USA Wrestling is the National Governing Body for the Sport of Wrestling in
the United States and, as such, is its representative to the United States
Olympic Committee. Simply, USA Wrestling is the central organization that
coordinates amateur wrestling programs in the nation and works to create
interest and participation in these programs.
USA Wrestling has more than 160,000 members. These members include athletes
of all ages, coaches, officials, parents and fans striving together to
strengthen the sport. Each year, USA Wrestling charters over 3000 wrestling
clubs and sanctions over 1600 local, state, regional and national
competitions.
Mission: USA Wrestling, guided by the Olympic Spirit, provides quality
opportunities for its members to achieve their full human and athletic
potential.
Texas USA Wrestling, Inc. (TXUSAW) is a volunteer, non-profit organization
dedicated to the promotion of amateur wrestling, the world's oldest
organized sport. TXUSAW consistently strives to provide wrestling
opportunities and help Texas' amateur wrestlers achieve their full
potential. TXUSAW provides many well-planned activities and tournaments
featuring all three wrestling styles throughout the calendar year for all
ages and genders. The primary function of the State Association is to
promote and develop all styles of wrestling.
TXUSAW strives to educate the community with regard to the many values which
wrestling instills upon its participants and how wrestling's experiences
last a lifetime.Texas USA Wrestling is the state affiliate to USA Wrestling,
the national governing body for the sport of wrestlingin the United States.
The State Association serves as liaison between individual participants and
the national organization.
The mission of Texas USA Wrestling is to establish a program that serves the
membership, as well as:
-challenges and inspires the athletes
-mentors and develops the coaches
-educates the general public and spectators
-builds a nationally respected program
