2008 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

We offer OUR community TWO LEAGUES!!!

Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is a non-profit organization that provides youth football and cheer & dance programs for participants in 41 states and several countries around the world. It consists of approximately 360,000 young boys and girls.  PWLS is the largest youth football, cheer and dance program in the United States. Pop Warner continues to grow and serves as the only youth football, cheerleading & dance organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order to participate. The mission of Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is to enable children to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, Pop Warner programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that children will use throughout their lives.

Texas Youth Football & Cheer Association (TYFA) is one of the fastest growing leagues in Texas and represents numerous cities.  TYFA has been ranked by USA Football in the top 10%
of Independent Leagues in the country on size.
Because of its size and all the hard work the Executive Board puts forth, TYFA has a lot to bring to the table. All positions in TYFA are Volunteer (no pay).  The biggest compensation is the knowledge that you are doing for kids. TYFA believes in honesty, fair play and integrity. In TYFA the buzz phrase is “on any given Saturday anyone can win”.  Our motto is “Where Dreams Begin!” There are no year-to-year dominating teams.  Everyone can be beat.  We don’t discriminate. We welcome any child or volunteer of any size, shape, race, color, creed, religion, ethnicity, gender or weight. Each volunteer is required to undergo a background check each year which is part of certification

It was great to see the cheer squad at the Pop Warner games last year!
This year, we would love to see squads at the TYFA games.  We are still working out the details on how we will divide the squads for the games.  What we DO know is that we want to showcase our squads and compete as a group at the end of the regular season.  If you always wanted to be a cheer coach or know someone who would love the challenge, please contact Allen Whitfield, Director of Football at ywain64@msn.com.

    2008 FOOTBALL CAMP

The STEELE KNIGHTS coaching staff will volunteer their time to teach football fundamentals and advanced skills during the 2008 Buffalo Valley Youth Association Football Camp.  This is a one-day camp, held at Dobie Junior High School on June 7, 2008.  Ask for details during football registration.  Participants do not have to be registered for BVYA football to attend!
