LIL SLUGGERS BASEBALL – designed to be totally instructional for 4 year olds

 

SOFTBALL – Shetland thru Pony division – will interlock with surrounding organizations. 

 

COLT/PALOMINO BASEBALL – age group 15-19 years of age.  Division will not begin games until late May and will run through early July. 

 

FIELD DAY: Saturday, March 13th, beginning at 12pm (noon) at both complexes.  

 

KSN COACHES CLINIC:  (APPLIES ONLY TO APPROVED MANAGERS) Saturday, March 6th at Wilder Intermediate school cafeteria.  Clinic will begin at 8:30am, please arrive by 8:00am to allow for check in.

 

MUSTANG/BRONCO/PONY BASEBALL DIVISION TRYOUTSKeep this info; you WILL NOT receive a reminder call concerning this.   Saturday, February 27th   at Thulemeyer complex on Oak St, Pony 8:30 AM, Bronco 11 AM, and Mustang 2:00PM.   In the event of bad weather, tryouts will be moved to March 2rd for Mustang, March 3rd for Bronco and March 4th for Pony, all makeup days will begin at 6pm.  In event of rain on any makeup day, teams for that division will be selected using a blind computer draft.

 

OPENING DAY:  Saturday, March 27th at Schertz Ball Park.   Ceremonies will begin at 9am on Field #2.  Teams are encouraged to create team banners, which will be judged during opening ceremonies (no professionally printed banners will be allowed for contest).    Team picture day, fundraiser turn in, Missions ticket, car decal turn in, special opening day menu and inflatable’s for the kids.   Visit sponsor booths to receive samples/coupons, etc.  Booths are still available.  If interested, please call 210-659-1610. 

 

FUNDRAISER, SA MISSION TICKETS  AND CAR DECALS TURN IN:  Saturday, March 27th, Opening Day at Schertz Ballpark concession stand 9am-12pm.  Can also be turned in during regular office hours prior to opening day.  Contest for top seller in fundraiser ends at 12pm on March 27th.  Any money turned in after 12pm, will not count towards contest.  Once SA Missions tickets are received, we will notify parents/coaches and they may be picked up at the office building.

 

LIFETOUCH PICTURE DAY:  Saturday – Opening Day, March 27th at Schertz Ballpark, after opening ceremonies.  Coaches will receive picture order forms and picture schedule with game schedule at a later date.

 

SCOREKEEPING CLINIC:  Monday, March 22rd and Wednesday, March 24th.  Both sessions are the same, will begin at 6:30pm at the BVYA Office Building located on Oak St.

 

ELECTIONS:  Candidates for the Board must submit a letter requesting to be placed on the ballot no later than May 5th.  Elections will be held at the BVYA Concession stand at both complexes on May 8th, 8:30am till 12pm, for Board elections.   In the event of rain and games have been cancelled that day, elections will move to the BVYA Office Building, located at 401 Oak St.

 

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:  Each team will be assigned field maintenance and concession duty, one to two times per season.  Field maintenance consists of mowing, weed eating, picking up and emptying trash containers, etc.  Concession duty (assigned one or two times during season – depending on number of teams), team will be responsible for concession, minimum of 6 parents at all times in concession.  No one under the age of 15 is allowed to be in the concession.     Concession manager and/or Board Member will be there to get team started and to instruct team on shutting down for the evening.

 

AFTER GAMES: Teams are responsible for cleaning the dugouts after your game.  If you are the last game of the day, all equipment must be put up (bases, chalker, etc.) and official scorebook and controller MUST be returned to the concession stand.
